"Ode" to Meditation

Oh Meditation. You scoundrel. You trickster. How You tease and play with my mind. The unending trail of words and workday "busyness" clouding up my brain. Hopping to and fro and here and there with the occasional "croak" - like a toad in the muddy, dense, oppressive bog.

Occasionally a clearing, like sunrise over Hawai'i, appears and I feel the Godly, otherworldly presence of bliss. And a thunderclap of inspiration jolts me right to my very core. (Good thing I have a notebook nearby to press my pen into.)

But, usually You are still a practice to silence this overstimulated brain of mine. After over 20 years of "study and trying" You are still a practice. Quiet does come to me occasionally when I teach You, but it is still a practice.

It's good I have more time; to sit, to try, to experience the opening of the curtain for a brief moment, or 2, or 3... There is no right way - or wrong way - for this experience. As it is, inevitably, an experience.
Beautiful just as it is.
Admirable just as it is.
Being, just as I am.

I wouldn't really categorize this as an ode, but it sort of is.... Enjoy.
