A bear hug and my latest love!

I am not one to jump on the New Years bandwagon.
I want QUIET and some SOLITUDE after all the crazy dashing around, driving amidst "stark raven mad" shoppers of the November/December Holidays.

Seriously, I just want to BREATHE and ACTUALLY HEAR IT!

AND .... resolutions - not my bag. I honestly find them stressful and too left brain/linear for myself. But - Huzzah if they work for you. I will totally support that!

That being said, I will now speak from my heart and share 3 simple things I learned, and loved, this past year. Hopefully, one will resonate with you and you can add it to your toolbox to take out when needed.

1. Stop pushing. Stop the rush.  (Lessons from Nature here)

2. Put 5-15 minutes everyday into your calendar to hold space for yourself.
Some ME-TIME - Not self care. I believe self care is a habit you acquire for health and mind maintenance.
Me-time is soul maintenance.

-Set the timer on your phone, silence it and sit with yourself. Genuine time just for you.
-Stare at the wall like a cat, look out the window at the sky, or tree, or dust particles swirling around and give yourself a big hug. You are awesome and worth it!
-DO NOTHING.

Doing Nothing IS Doing Something for Your Soul.

3. My latest LOVE!!! - my favorite app of this year - Happy Cow - veggie app for those who don't eat meat and for those (like me) who do not eat meat outside of the farmers market.
I have found some really great restaurants in Chicago as well - excellent choice I must say.

Now - As my Italian grandmother would say, "You have a scarf. wear your scarf, it's cold outside!"

Time to Relax

Some people just need to learn to relax completely before they are connected to their body and in touch with the body,mind,spirit relationship that is uniquely theirs.

Sometimes people just need to learn to relax.

By relax, I mean - s l o w _ d o w n.
Slow down the quest for perfection. The quest for perfection that the internet, and Hollywood, and magazines, and books, and all media outlets inundate our society with as a whole and us, as individuals. Slow down from the anxiety and unreachable heights this may lead us to.

So, I repeat for myself too - some people just need to learn to relax completely and slow down, period.
