In honor of practicing Aloha for myself and giving my mind a break for some integration time for all recent "a-ha moments", life lessons, and decisions; I am choosing to nourish my body and spirit and share it with you...
This is definitely one of my favorite smoothie recipes. It's also great in both warm and cooler weather for those that live in those climates - like me!
I call it Blueberry Bliss
Ingredients: 1c. coconut water or purified water
1c. frozen or fresh organic blueberries
1 frozen organic banana
1 or 2 TBSP raw cashew butter
huge handful(s) of organic spinach
1/2 tsp. cinnamon or more to your taste (I like to add more, to amp up the digestive fire)
1. You will need a good blender for this.
2. Add the liquid to the blender first, then, add the other ingredients. (This will help to move the blades and crush the frozen fruit more efficiently.)
BLEND IT UP and ENJOY!
This will even blend up in an old "Oster" brand blender from the 50'S. The only blender that I have come across that doesn't do it well is the Ninja - sorry Ninja, you just don't make the cut for blending a lot of frozen, thick foods.
Have fun and play around to make it your own - and if you don't like blueberries, I promise to have other smoothie recipes out! Lisa Kai
