Hmmmmm. The cooler weather, sweaters, and a hot tea to warm you from within is a comforting experience that affects the body and soul.
I LOVE CHAI TEA. It's warming from the inside out. Plus, it's just plain tasty.
This is my version of a combination of golden milk and chai tea mixed with special herbs that are great for your joints, increasing circulation, enhancing digestion and supporting the immune system.
Plus, I also add some Elder flower tea to the base. Elder flowers are great for sinus congestion and assist in relieving allergies and sinus pressure. Plus, if you have a cold, it just makes you sigh and feel better almost immediately. (I have no scientific answer for why this is, but it is! )
You will need: A small pot that holds 2 cups of liquid
a travel mug
Ingredients are below the picture clockwise from the pot to the mug....
1. Bring water in a pot to a boil. Add Elder flowers and let steep for 10 minutes.
2. Strain the tea with a tea strainer into a mug of your choice. ( The flowers aren't so great when they stick to the roof of your mouth while drinking the tea. )
3. Put milk into the pot you just used, add the elder tea, ground turmeric, cinnamon, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
Turn off the burner.
4. Put black tea, , cardamom pods, ginger, and the 2 cloves into the tea strainer. Let it steep for 5 minutes.
5. Stir it up and take the strainer out.
6. Pour into a travel mug and enjoy on your way to work or throughout your day!
